Two-storey building with 9 playrooms is intended for use by up to 200 children and 45 staff members.
Socializing and connecting of children revolve around two spaces in the building: a multipurpose space on the ground floor and a sports area on the upper floor.
In the desire for maximum connection between internal and external spaces, the building is designed as a series of alternating enclosed and open spaces. Outdoor terraces are placed between the playrooms, connecting through glass surfaces, allowing visibility from the first to the last playroom on the same floor. The view from the playroom is directed towards both the covered terraces and the outdoor playground.
The kindergarten building is designed as a classic construction, with a concrete skeleton and brick infill. The facade is brick. The warmth of the interior, surrounded by light wood, shines through the glass surfaces. The building is nearly zero-energy, with heating and cooling provided by a water-to-water heat pump, and a solar power plant installed on the roof.
